Statement about Domestic Violence Murder-Suicide in Marlborough, MA

Boston, MA, December 1, 2023 - On Wednesday morning, 28 year old Kethlen Paula Alves Trindade DaRocha was shot and killed by her boyfriend inside her home in Marlborough, MA. The boyfriend then turned the gun on himself. This story is a tragic reminder of the deadly intersection of guns and domestic violence.

Her roommate and the roommate's 9 year old child were in the house when the shooting took place and luckily escaped. They are also victims of this homicide, and our thoughts are with them as they deal with the profound trauma of this event.

If you or someone you love is suffering from domestic violence, call the toll-free Safelink hotline at 800-799-7233, or visit our member organization Jane Doe Inc's website for Massachusetts-based resources: https://www.janedoe.org/.
