What we do

Artboard 2_edited.png

Mass Action expands our ability to advocate boldly and strategically for policies that prevent gun violence. As a 501(c)(4), we can now engage more directly in legislative and political action to save lives, support communities, and drive change at every level of government. Here's how we take action:

mission

Implement

Mass Action is ensuring the full and effective implementation of the landmark 2024 gun safety law, An Act Modernizing Firearms Laws. We educate providers and the public about what the law contains and best practices for putting specific provisions into action.

Defend

We defend our lifesaving gun safety laws from all challenges, legal or legislative, to ensure that MA remains the safest state in the nation when it comes to gun violence.

Advance

We advocate for forward-thinking policies like:

  • Root-cause solutions, including juvenile justice reform as a foundation for long-term violence prevention

  • Accountability for the firearm industry

  • Legislation that reduces the rate of unsolved homicides

Fund

Community Violence Intervention (CVI) saves lives, but federal funding for this work is under threat. Mass Action champions state-level budget advocacy that fights for CVI programs, youth employment resources, and re-entry services critical to public safety.

Drive  change

We work at the state and municipal levels to hold elected officials accountable - pushing for responsive, inclusive local plans to address and prevent gun violence.

Mass Action Matters

Now more than ever, community safety depends on our work at the state and local levels. Mass Action allows us to meet this political moment with urgency and capacity. Our combined 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) structure strengthens our ability to both educate and advocate for gun violence prevention—bringing more voices, more resources, and more pressure to bear on systems that need change.
