Our Statement on the Killing of Renee Nicole Good by ICE in Minneapolis

BOSTON, MA (Jan. 8, 2026) — We are devastated by the killing of Renee Nicole Good by ICE agents in Minneapolis yesterday. Renee was a gifted poet and writer, and a loving mother of three young children. She had just dropped off her six-year-old at school when she was killed.

State violence carried out with a gun is gun violence - and the Coalition rejects gun violence in all its forms. As the federal government targets immigrant communities and uses gun violence against its own people, it puts our most vulnerable neighbors at risk and makes every community less safe. This is not what public safety looks like.

We oppose this administration’s escalation of state violence and stand with the communities most impacted - especially our Black and brown immigrant neighbors. We will honor Renee’s memory by continuing to fight for a future where everyone, in every zip code, can live safe and free from gun violence.
